Introduction

This site is the result of 4 months research undertaken by myself B.Jefferson in 1994. Please bear in mind that in those days tabulated images were unheard of and gopher was still a commonly used protocol! The images were all captured using a fairly basic Digital Camera.

Despite all these things I am still confident that BIIS is a useful resource and an interesting snapshot of a town which in the short time since has changed dramatically. I hope the project will also be a snapshot of early development of an interactive Hypertext user interface.

The pages are best viewed by strolling around the town from street to street.

ENJOY!

I can only apologize in advance for spelling and grammar - this will probably be my fault. All the texts have been translated from Slovak by myself (many thanks to Gabi and Gabo for their patient assistance). Please let me know of any mistakes or ANY other comments at bjefferson@web.classics.co.uk or via the comments page on CARS.Classics (one of my more recent projects).
