This was originally a renaisance house built in the 16th Century. In the first half of the 19th Century it was largely rebuilt and extended in the Classical style.
In 1845 Ján Nepomuk Batka was born here. He was the town arhcivist, a musical critic and the organizer of much of the cultural life fo the town. He is well known for his in rich correspondance with, amongst others, the musicians and composers P I Cajkovsky, N R Korsakov and A G Rubinstejn.
