Art Noveau Building

History

For a short time, after the battle of Mohac in 1526, Queen Maria (widowed wife of the Austro-Hungarian king Ludovit II), lived in the building originally on this site.

Architecture

Art Nouveau building erected at the end of the 19th century on the site of an older building, from the 15th century, which belonged to the Auerova family. The new building was built for the "Hungarian Discount and Exchange Bank". The Cafe Roland is located on the ground floor. This is one of the most well known cafes in Bratislava (when I last went it was good but expensive!).
