This street was established in the 15th century. In what was a dark and narrow street, most of the original houses were painted white. Hence White Street (Biela ulica). In the 19th Century this street was named Korvinus Street (Korvinova ulica) and from 1945 until 1990 it was named after the Czech poet Jiri Wolkra. After the revolution in 1989 it regained its original name.
