St Michael's Street

Information

One of the Bratislava's oldest streets. It originated as part of the route from a ford across the Danube. In the 13th century it formed one of the main axis of the town. When the town's defences were built in the 14th century Michalska br&aaacute;na (St Michael's Gate) was constructed as a gate to the city at the end of the street. The street was named after the patron saint of this gate.
