Rudnay Square

General Information

This square, in front of the Dom sv. Martina (Cathedral of St. Martin), was established in 1778 on the site of what had been, up until then, a cemetery. In 1918 it was given the name Rudnayovo Namestie (Rudnay Square) after the Archbishop of Esztergom, A.Rudnay who was a supporter of the Bernolak group of National Awakeners.
